Raymond James on ViaSat (VSAT): 'we continue to see an attractive risk/reward'

Raymond James analyst Richard Prentiss reiterated an Outperform rating and $107.00 price target on ViaSat (NASDAQ: VSAT).

The analyst comments "Monday morning, Viasat (VSAT) announced (HERE) its Viasat-3 (VS-3) F3 (Flight 3) geostationary (GEO) satellite had entered service providing connectivity across the AsiaPacific region, in line with expectations for service to begin by late summer. The company also provided an update on the VS-3 F2 satellite, noting that in-orbit testing is in its final stages, and it is expected to enter service soon (prior target was September). Viasat's ViaSat-3 F3 satellite begins service in Asia-Pacific

Viasat, Inc. (NASDAQ: VSAT) announced that its ViaSat-3 F3 satellite has entered service, with capacity now available for customers across the Asia-Pacific region, according to a company press release dated Aug. 31, 2026.

The satellite is designed to deliver more than one terabit per second of throughput capacity and operates on a Ka-band frequency. It is the second of three satellites in Viasat's next-generation constellation to enter service.

ViaSat-3 F1 has been in service since 2024. The third satellite, ViaSat-3 F2, which is intended to serve the Americas, is in the final stages of in-orbit testing and is expected to enter service

Viasat picks Rocket Lab to build GEO satellite for Space Force

Viasat Inc. (NASDAQ: VSAT) has selected Rocket Lab Corporation (NASDAQ: RKLB) to build a satellite bus for the U.S. Space Force's Protected Tactical SATCOM-Global (PTS-G) program, according to a joint press release issued Aug. 17, 2026.

Viasat was awarded a prime contract on May 22, 2026, to deliver a small, maneuverable geosynchronous Earth orbit (GEO) satellite under the program's first production award, called Swarm 1. The contract covers manufacturing, integration and testing, launch, and on-orbit checkout of the satellite system, along with five years of operations and sustainment services including tracking, telemetry and command, network operations, and cybersecurity.
