VERAXA Biotech AG (NASDAQ: VRXA) announced the appointment of Carl von Halem as interim chief financial officer, succeeding Torsten Bürgermeister, according to a company statement dated July 10, 2026.

Von Halem currently serves as chief financial officer of Xlife Sciences AG, a Swiss life-science focused incubator, where the company said he was instrumental in taking VERAXA public. He also holds roles as managing director of Xlife Science GmbH and board member of Axenoll Life Sciences AG and FUSE-AI AG.

Prior to his work in life sciences, von Halem co-founded and served as chief operating officer at CommneX, a Munich-based financial technology company.
