Pratt & Whitney to spend $25M expanding Poland engine parts plant

Pratt & Whitney, a business unit of RTX (NYSE: RTX), is investing $25 million (PLN 95 million) to expand its manufacturing facility in Niepołomice, Poland, dedicated to producing precision tubular assemblies for commercial and military engines.

The expanded site is expected to become operational in 2028 and is projected to add more than 120 jobs. The facility currently produces components for several engine programs, including the Pratt & Whitney GTF engine used in commercial passenger aircraft, the PW800 for business jets, and the F135 engine powering all variants of the F-35 Lightning II fighter aircraft.

Investing.com - Raytheon Co. (NYSE: RTX) shares received a $42.5 million contract from the U.S. Department of War to provide technical and engineering services for Navy air traffic systems, the department announced today.

The cost-plus-fixed-fee order, managed by Collins Aerospace in Marlborough, Massachusetts, falls under a basic ordering agreement issued in 2019. The contract covers technical, engineering, and restoration services supporting air traffic navigation, integration, and coordination systems for the Navy.

Work will be performed in Marlborough, Massachusetts, with completion expected in August 2031. The Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division in Patuxent River, Maryland, serves as the contracting activity.

Investing.com - RTX Corp. (NYSE: RTX) has been awarded a $240,754,035 contract modification by the U.S. Department of Defense to support F-35 engine development and readiness improvements, the Pentagon announced today.

The cost-plus-incentive-fee and cost-plus-fixed-fee modification expands an existing contract to provide non-recurring engineering for the F135 engine. The work includes addressing operational issues, improving readiness, and supporting the transition of the engine core upgrade from risk reduction design review into engineering and manufacturing development. The contract also covers long-lead hardware for a spare test engine for the Air Force, Marine Corps, Navy, and F-35 Cooperative Program Partners.

Raytheon, a business unit of RTX (NYSE: RTX), has completed a 17,000 square-foot expansion of its Forest, Mississippi manufacturing facility, backed by a $50 million capital investment.

The expanded site will support production, testing, and integration of Next Generation Jammer Mid-Band pods for the U.S. Navy and the Australian government, as well as other airborne radar programs. The facility now totals 445,000 square feet of manufacturing space.
