Investing.com -- Rapport Therapeutics shares rocketed more than 50% in premarket trading Tuesday after the company reported positive results from a mid-stage trial of its bipolar mania treatment RAP-219.

The company said RAP-219 met its primary and secondary endpoints in a Phase 2 trial of 253 adults with bipolar I disorder experiencing acute manic episodes. The treatment achieved a statistically significant 3.1-point placebo-adjusted improvement in the Young Mania Rating Scale (YMRS) total score at week 3.
