OpenAI in talks for new funding round at $1.2tn valuation - FT

OpenAI has held early conversations with investors about raising a new private funding round at a $1.2tn valuation, ahead of a planned IPO, according to the Financial Times, citing people familiar with the matter.

The company, which makes ChatGPT, raised $122bn in March at an $852bn valuation, including the new capital raised at that time. The potential new round would represent a significant increase from that figure.

Investing.com -- OpenAI Inc. is evaluating investment opportunities in Canada, according to George Osborne, the company's head of international relations. Osborne attended Prime Minister Mark Carney's Canada Investment Summit, where global money managers and investors gathered.

Osborne, who served as UK chancellor from 2010 to 2016 and previously hired Carney to lead the Bank of England, said the artificial intelligence company wanted "to see what the investment potentials are in Canada. It's a very important market for OpenAI, and there's lots of potential here."
