Tema ETF adds Anthropic as a top holding via SPV

Tema ETFs announced that its Photonics & Optical ETF (NYSE Arca: LAZR) has acquired exposure to Anthropic, the private AI company, through a special purpose vehicle (SPV).

As of the announcement date, Anthropic represented 12.06% of LAZR's net assets. Tema said it intends to maintain Anthropic as a top holding in the fund, though holdings are subject to change.

The exposure gives LAZR shareholders pre-IPO access to Anthropic, which has not yet gone public. SPVs are a commonly used structure for investing in private companies but carry increased liquidity and valuation risk compared to publicly traded securities.

Quantum Computing Inc. completes $110 million Luminar acquisition

Quantum Computing Inc. (NASDAQ: QUBT) completed its acquisition of Luminar Semiconductor Inc., a subsidiary of Luminar Technologies Inc. (NASDAQ: LAZR), in an all-cash transaction valued at $110 million.

The Hoboken, New Jersey-based quantum optics company acquired LSI to build a vertically integrated photonics and quantum technology platform. LSI operates in lasers, detectors, advanced packaging, and manufacturing capabilities.

"LSI is important to our technology roadmap, and the deep technical expertise of the LSI team will be key to our joint success," said Yuping Huang, CEO and Chairman of QCI's Board, according to a company statement.
