IDEAYA Biosciences starts Phase 1/2 expansion for IDE892 in cancer

IDEAYA Biosciences (NASDAQ: IDYA) announced that its Phase 1/2 clinical trial evaluating IDE892, an MTA-cooperative PRMT5 inhibitor, has initiated Part 2 monotherapy expansion in patients with MTAP-deleted non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) and pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC).

According to the company, the expansion was initiated after projected efficacious target human exposures were achieved, including 24-hour target EC90 coverage. The maximum tolerated dose has not yet been reached in the ongoing dose escalation.

IDE892 is reported to have approximately 1,400-fold selective MTA-PRMT5 cooperative binding versus SAM-PRMT5 cooperative binding. The compound also showed a CYP3A4 IC50 greater than 45 micromolar and no time-dependent inhibition
