FARNBOROUGH, England, July 21, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- GE Aerospace (NYSE: GE) today announced that AerCap Holdings N.V. ("AerCap") has selected the GEnx-1B engine to power an additional 15 Boeing 787 Dreamliners.

BBAM Limited Partnership has agreed to purchase 30 CFM International LEAP-1A and LEAP-1B spare engines to support operators of Airbus A320neo and Boeing 737 MAX aircraft, according to a press release from GE Aerospace (NYSE: GE).

The order includes both LEAP-1A engines, used on the Airbus A320neo family, and LEAP-1B engines, which power the Boeing 737 MAX. BBAM said the agreement represents its first direct engine order with CFM International, a joint venture between GE Aerospace and Safran Aircraft Engines.

Philippine Airlines (PAL) has selected GEnx-1B engines from GE Aerospace (NYSE: GE) to power 15 new Boeing 787-10 Dreamliner aircraft, with purchase rights for five additional planes, according to a company statement.

PAL, the Philippines' flag carrier, has been a GE Aerospace customer for over 50 years and currently operates 52 GE Aerospace and CFM-powered engines across its fleet, including GE90 engines on its Boeing 777-300ER aircraft and CFM56-5B engines on its Airbus A320s.

GE Aerospace (NYSE: GE), in collaboration with NASA, BETA Technologies (NYSE: BETA), and Boeing, conducted what the companies describe as the first hybrid electric flight above 30,000 feet, reaching altitudes comparable to commercial passenger aircraft. The milestone was announced at the Farnborough International Airshow on July 20, 2026.

The test campaign used a modified Saab 340B aircraft fitted with a megawatt-class, multi-kilovolt hybrid electric propulsion system developed under the NASA Electrified Powertrain Flight Demonstration (EPFD) project.
