Investing.com - A glacier-collapse flood on August 26 killed at least 489 people in Nepal and left nearly 1,000 missing, with the country's only billionaire, Binod Chaudhary, estimating that rebuilding destroyed infrastructure could cost at least $5 billion, according to Bloomberg.

Engineering and construction firms with Himalayan or South Asian project experience stand as the most direct equity beneficiaries of that recovery spending. AECOM (NYSE: ACM), with a market capitalisation of approximately $8.5 billion, and Fluor (NYSE: FLR), with a market capitalisation of approximately $7 billion, are among the listed companies that market research firm MarketResearchFuture identifies as active in post-disaster

The adjustment follows Fluor's second-quarter 2026 results, which Kaplowitz described as showing adjusted earnings per share and adjusted EBITDA that "significantly beat expectations," along with an increase in orders and backlog during the quarter.
