Fluence and LEAG begin 400 MWh battery project in eastern Germany

Fluence Energy, Inc. (NASDAQ: FLNC) and LEAG Clean Power GmbH have begun construction of the Heinersbrück GridBattery, a 400 MWh energy storage project located in eastern Germany, according to a press release from the companies.

The project is scheduled for completion in 2027 and will be co-located with wind and solar generation assets on recultivated former mining land. It will use Fluence's Smartstack modular battery technology. Fluence is responsible for the design, supply, and construction of the system.

The Heinersbrück GridBattery is the second joint project between the two companies. They are also deploying the GigaBattery Jänschwalde 1000, a 1 GW /
