Ginkgo Bioworks launches cloud lab with autonomous robotic infrastructure

Ginkgo Bioworks (NYSE: DNA) announced the launch of Ginkgo Cloud Lab, a web-based platform that provides researchers remote access to the company's autonomous laboratory infrastructure.

The platform operates on Ginkgo's Reconfigurable Automation Carts (RACs), which combine robotic arms, sample transport tracks, and software to create a laboratory environment. The Cloud Lab provides access to over 70 instruments for biological operations including sample preparation, liquid handling, analytical readouts, storage and incubation.

The platform features an AI-driven agent called EstiMate that allows scientists to submit protocols in natural language and receive compatibility assessments with Ginkgo's autonomous fleet along with transparent pricing.

Ginkgo Bioworks Holdings, Inc. (NYSE: DNA) announced that its subsidiary entered into an agreement to sell substantially all operations of its biosecurity segment to Tower Biosecurity, Inc.

Under the stock purchase agreement dated February 26, 2026, Ginkgo Bioworks, Inc. will transfer all equity interests of Ginkgo Biosecurity, LLC to Tower Biosecurity in exchange for approximately 20% ownership in Tower Biosecurity on a fully diluted basis.

The transaction involves the transfer of substantially all operations comprising Ginkgo Bioworks' biosecurity segment. The company expects to complete the deal in the first half of 2026, subject to customary closing conditions.
