Coinbase, Circle shares dip after new coverage at Raymond James

Investing.com -- Shares in Coinbase and USDC issuer Circle Internet Group dipped Wednesday after Raymond James initiated coverage of the stocks with Market Perform ratings, pointing out balanced risk-reward profiles for both digital asset companies amid a challenging crypto trading environment. The broker set a fair value of $158 for Coinbase and $70 for Circle.

Circle stock fell 3.2% in premarket trading by 08:32 ET, while Coinbase shed 1.5%.

US Tiger Securities analyst Bo Pei reiterated a Buy rating and $100.00 price target on Circle Internet Group (NYSE: CRCL).

The analyst comments "Our BUY thesis remains tied to CRCL’s crypto beta. An improvement in BTC prices should lift risk appetite, altcoin trading, on-chain settlement, collateral demand and yield-seeking activity. These channels collectively expand stablecoin utility and should ultimately translate into higher USDC demand. The recovery does not require USDC to immediately regain market share: growth in the overall stablecoin market would still support circulation, reserve income and sentiment toward CRCL, while any share recovery would provide incremental upside."
