Investing.com -- Boston Scientific disclosed Tuesday that it identified a cybersecurity incident affecting certain information technology systems, causing disruptions to its operations.

Shares fell 4% in premarket trading Wednesday.

The company said the incident has caused disruptions and limitations of access to certain information systems and business applications relevant to operations, including the ability to process and ship customer orders. The company expects these disruptions to continue.

Boston Scientific said it began an investigation with the help of third-party cybersecurity experts to assess and contain the threat. The investigation remains ongoing.
