Kirk Kerkorian
Kirk Kerkorian is an American billionaire, who made his fortune in the Las Vegas gaming business. Kerkorian owns a majority stake in MGM Mirage (NYSE: MGM)
Mr. Kerkorian was #7 on Forbes' 2007 list of the 400 richest Americans.
Kirk Kerkorian, is the Chief Executive Officer, President and sole director and stockholder of Tracinda Corporation. Tracinda's principal business is buying, selling and holding selected equity securities.
In the past, Kerkorian owned a 9.9% stake in General Motors (NYSE: GM), but sold the stake after GM refused to enter a partnership with Renault and Nissan Motor, which Kerkorian was pushing for.
In 2008, Kerkorian built up a significant stake in Ford Motors (NYSE: F).
