Twist Bioscience joins Eli Lilly's TuneLab drug discovery platform
Twist Bioscience Corporation (NASDAQ: TWST) has entered into an agreement with Lilly TuneLab, an AI and machine learning drug discovery platform created by Eli Lilly and Company, according to a press release from Twist Bioscience.
Under the agreement, Twist will serve as a provider of antibody characterization data services for TuneLab, including for AbLab, an antibody developability prediction model. TuneLab users will be able to order antibody services from Twist using preferred protocols to generate wet lab data, which can then be contributed back to TuneLab for federated model training.
TuneLab was developed to give participating companies access to AI and machine learning models trained on Eli Lilly's proprietary research data. The platform is intended to help researchers narrow down candidate molecules more rapidly.
"The quality of an AI model's output depends on the quality of the data used to train it," said Emily M. Leproust, Ph.D., CEO and co-founder of Twist Bioscience. "Twist has the scale and high-throughput capabilities to generate consistent and reliable antibody characterization data these models need to be trained on."
Lilly TuneLab is part of Lilly Catalyze360, a broader initiative that also includes Lilly Ventures, Lilly Gateway Labs, and Lilly ExploR&D.
