Costco expands Uber Eats delivery to nearly 600 U.S. locations
Uber Technologies (NYSE: UBER) and Costco have expanded their U.S. delivery partnership to cover 47 states, up from 17, according to a joint statement from the companies. Nearly 600 Costco locations are now available on the Uber Eats platform, offering on-demand and scheduled delivery to Costco members.
The expansion allows Costco members to order fresh produce, bulk groceries, and household items through the Uber Eats app. Members can link their Costco membership at checkout and track orders in real time.
As part of the expanded partnership, eligible Costco members can receive 50% off an annual Uber One membership for the first year, followed by 20% off in subsequent years. For a limited time, Uber and Uber Eats gift cards will be available at participating Costco locations and on Costco.com at $79.99 for $100 in value. Consumers can also purchase a Costco membership directly through Uber Eats and receive 30% off their first eligible order.
Uber One members receive no Uber fees on eligible grocery and retail orders over $60 at select stores.
"We are thrilled to expand our partnership with Costco nationwide, giving Costco members more ways to shop and bringing the brand's storied selection and value to more consumers," said Andrew Macdonald, President and Chief Operating Officer at Uber.
Costco is also available on Uber Eats in Canada, Mexico, Japan, Taiwan, France, and Spain. Costco currently operates 933 warehouses globally, including 641 in the United States and Puerto Rico.
