Stratasys Ltd. (NASDAQ: SSYS) announced an expansion of its additive manufacturing collaboration with General Motors, with plans to deploy its 3D printing solutions across more than 20 GM manufacturing facilities in North and South America, according to a company press release.

GM teams are using Stratasys FDM additive manufacturing systems to produce tooling, fixtures, jigs, factory aids and end-use parts. The deployment spans applications in tooling, quality control, safety and ergonomics across GM's production network.

Stratasys F900 FDM industrial production printers allow manufacturing teams to share applications across facilities. GM facilities have reported reductions in tooling costs and lead times as a result of the technology's use.

"General Motors demonstrates what becomes possible when additive manufacturing is fully integrated into production operations," said Yoav Zeif, Chief Executive Officer of Stratasys. "Together, we've created an approach that turns factory-floor innovation into enterprise-wide business value, helping manufacturing teams improve performance, reduce costs and scale proven solutions across their operations."

Doneen McDowell, Manufacturing Vice President at GM North America Full Size Truck and Large SUV Assembly Operations, said: "If we can give people the tools so they can own the outcome within their footprint, and then take those solutions and replicate them across our footprint where they apply, we'll get the best outcome."

Stratasys said it combines industrial FDM production systems, production-grade materials, software and application expertise to integrate additive manufacturing into existing workflows. The company plans to showcase the GM collaboration at IMTS 2026, where a video filmed across multiple GM facilities in North America will be presented at the Stratasys booth.
