Quantum Computing Inc. signs three-year deal with Qatar university
Quantum Computing Inc. (Nasdaq: QUBT) has signed a three-year framework agreement with Hamad Bin Khalifa University (HBKU) in Qatar to collaborate on quantum computing, quantum sensing, and quantum communications, according to a company press release.
The agreement covers joint academic research, executive education programs, industry-focused projects, applications development, and co-marketing initiatives. As part of the deal, QCi will provide HBKU with cloud-based access to its Dirac-3 system, as well as a physical installation in Qatar. The Dirac-3 platform is designed to solve complex optimization problems using entropy quantum computing techniques and does not require specialized quantum expertise to operate.
HBKU hosts the Qatar Center for Quantum Computing (QC2), which previously established what the university describes as Qatar's first quantum-safe communication link in collaboration with national partners.
"Quantum technologies will have their greatest impact when they move beyond the laboratory and into practical applications that create measurable value for industry and society," said Yong Meng Sua, CTO of QCi.
Dr. Saif Al-Kuwari, Director of the Qatar Center for Quantum Computing at HBKU, said the agreement aims to "further advance quantum research while building the knowledge and skills necessary to support the adoption of quantum technologies across Qatar's innovation ecosystem."
Over the three-year term, the two organizations plan to pursue joint research, technical workshops, executive education, and quantum-focused events. QCi and HBKU stated they are already collaborating on educational initiatives aimed at business and government leaders.
QCi is headquartered in Hoboken, New Jersey, and has operations across several U.S. states.
