Satellogic to launch three satellites in October 2026

Satellogic Inc. (NASDAQ: SATL) announced plans to launch two NewSat Mark VI satellites equipped with inter-satellite link (ISL) technology and one NewSat Mark V satellite in October 2026, according to a company press release issued Sept. 14, 2026.

The two Mark VI satellites will extend Satellogic's ISL architecture across its fleet, enabling satellites to share information directly with one another in orbit. The technology allows a detected change or object of interest on one satellite to inform the tasking of another without routing every decision through a ground station first.

The Mark V satellite adds capacity to Satellogic's sovereign Space Systems program, which offers allied governments a path toward dedicated, sovereign-controlled satellite capability. The company cited prior milestones in this program, including Portugal's purchase of a sovereign satellite, Tata's operation of dedicated capacity for India, and HEO Australia's sovereign capability deployment.

"Launching these additional satellites builds out our Persistent Global Intelligence infrastructure with inter-satellite links that increasingly allow our satellites to work together as one coordinated system," said Emiliano Kargieman, chief executive officer of Satellogic. "The Mark V launch is a direct response to the growing demand we're seeing from governments who want to own their intelligence capability."

Chief Technology Officer Alan Kharsansky said ISL allows the constellation to communicate and retask itself in orbit. "That's the shift from operating independent satellites to running a connected network, one where the constellation itself prioritizes what matters and directs higher-resolution assets where they're needed," he said.

The announcement was made during World Space Business Week in Paris. Satellogic also confirmed an expanded Slingshot III agreement with Innovative Defense Technologies and the U.S. Office of Naval Research, and provided an update on a rendezvous and proximity operations mission conducted with HEO using a Satellogic-built satellite.
