S&P Global invests in Kaiko via Series B extension
S&P Global (NYSE: SPGI) announced a strategic investment in Kaiko, a digital asset market data and infrastructure company, through its S&P Global Ventures arm as part of Kaiko's Series B extension.
The investment expands an existing partnership between the two companies. In March 2026, S&P Dow Jones Indices and Kaiko announced the tokenization of the iBoxx U.S. Treasuries Index on the blockchain. In early September 2026, the two companies launched the S&P Kaiko Digital Asset Indices, a co-branded index suite combining crypto market data capabilities from both firms.
Cathy Clay, CEO of S&P Dow Jones Indices, said in a statement: "Kaiko's strength in crypto market data and analytics builds foundational transparency for the digital-asset ecosystem—turning complex trading and on-chain activity into reliable, decision-ready intelligence."
Ambre Soubiran, CEO of Kaiko, said: "S&P Global brings a reputation for trust and analytical excellence that is unmatched in global markets. Together, we will accelerate our ability to serve institutions as they move on-chain."
Kaiko, founded in 2014, states it serves more than 250 financial firms, institutions, and regulators. The company recently acquired Amberdata and Cometh as part of an expansion of its global operations.
S&P Global has also issued what it describes as the industry's first stablecoin stability assessments and the first credit rating of a decentralized finance protocol, specifically the Sky Protocol. The company has additionally licensed the S&P 500 for use in tokenized funds and tokenized exchange-traded funds.
