Arbe Robotics launches counter-drone radar for defense market

Arbe Robotics (Nasdaq: ARBE) announced the launch of the Alerion C-UAS Radar, a compact 4D imaging radar system designed to detect and track drones that are difficult for conventional counter-drone sensors to identify, according to a company press release.

The Tel Aviv-based company said the system has been field-tested for defense applications and is currently under evaluation by counter-unmanned aircraft systems integrators worldwide. The announcement marks Arbe's entry into the defense and homeland security market, an expansion from its existing automotive radar business.

The Alerion system is built to detect drones including FPV, mini, autonomous, and fiber-optic-controlled models. Because it detects the physical drone rather than its radio emissions, the system can track drones that operate without a radio link. The radar is intended to function as a sensing layer within larger multi-sensor counter-drone systems, tracking targets from initial detection through final approach.

Ram Machness, CEO of Arbe, said the system applies sensing capabilities developed for automotive use to the counter-drone market. "This opens a significant new market for Arbe," he said.

The system uses a solid-state design described by the company as low SWaP-C, referring to size, weight, power, and cost. Arbe said the profile makes Alerion suitable for fixed, vehicle-mounted, and portable deployments.

Arbe said it will present the system at the Counter UAS Homeland Security Europe conference in London on September 23–24, 2026.
