The U.S. Department of Energy has issued an order requiring TransAlta Corporation's (NYSE: TAC) Centralia Unit 2 power plant in Washington State to remain available for operation for 90 days, through Dec. 12, 2026.

TransAlta confirmed the order was received by its subsidiary, TransAlta Centralia Generation LLC, according to a press release statement. The company said it will comply with the order and work with the U.S. Department of Energy and Washington state government in connection with it.
