VisionWave Holdings, Inc. (Nasdaq: VWAV) announced it filed a U.S. non-provisional patent application with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office describing ARGUS, a proposed counter-drone defense architecture that combines space-based sensing, artificial intelligence, and multi-effector defense systems.

The application, Serial No. 19/797,497, was filed September 4, 2026, and is titled "Systems and Methods of Detecting and Countering Drone Attacks by Space-Enabled, AI-Driven Counter-UAS Architecture." It claims priority to a provisional application filed December 15, 2025. The application has not yet been examined by the USPTO, and no patent has been issued.

According to the company's statement, ARGUS has not been built, integrated, or tested as a system, and no prototype of the complete architecture exists. VisionWave does not own or operate any satellites and has no agreement with any satellite operator or government agency for any element of the system. The company acknowledged that developing ARGUS would require substantial additional capital, third-party participation, and government authorizations.

As described in the application, the architecture would integrate satellite-based electro-optical, infrared, and radar sensors with ground-based radar and radio frequency detectors to form a unified air picture. An AI component would analyze the structural geometry of airborne objects to classify potential threats. The system would coordinate defensive responses including interceptor drones, RF jammers, directed-energy systems, and other technologies, with any engagement requiring human operator authorization.

The application also describes SkyWeave, an AI-controlled high-frequency communications backbone also in development, intended to maintain command connectivity when other communications are unavailable.

VisionWave noted that RF jamming, navigation spoofing, and certain other counter-drone technologies are restricted under U.S. federal law to specifically authorized government agencies, which may limit potential customers for the system. ARGUS has not generated any revenue.
