Vishay launches new TVS series for automotive and industrial use
Vishay Intertechnology (NYSE: VSH) has introduced the XFD11KxxCA series, a new line of bidirectional XClampR flat clamping transient voltage suppressors (TVS) in the surface-mount DO-218AC package, according to a company statement.
The series includes 15 devices available in both commercial-grade and AEC-Q101 qualified versions. The devices offer maximum clamping voltages from 40.6 V to 104.0 V, breakdown voltages from 36.7 V to 104 V, and stand-off voltages from 33 V to 85 V, covering 12 V, 24 V, and 48 V automotive system powertrains.
Vishay claims the series delivers peak pulse power dissipation comparable to 11 kW conventional TVS at 10/1000 μs, along with approximately 1.6x higher peak pulse current than conventional DO-218-compatible devices, reaching up to 207.1 A at 10/1000 μs. The devices also provide 8/20 μs surge capability up to 2,140 A and maintain a low leakage current of 10 μA maximum at stand-off voltage.
The TVS operate across a temperature range of -55 °C to +175 °C. Targeted automotive applications include advanced driver assistance systems, on-board chargers, DC/DC converters, traction inverters, and battery management systems. Industrial applications include servo motor systems, server power, telecom power supplies, and radar power supplies.
The devices are RoHS-compliant and halogen-free, with a moisture sensitivity level of 1 per J-STD-020 and a maximum peak reflow temperature of 245 °C.
Samples and production quantities are available, with lead times of 12 weeks.
