A joint venture between Jacobs (NYSE: J) and AECOM (NYSE: ACM) has been appointed by Transport Infrastructure Ireland (TII) as Program Delivery Partner for MetroLink, a planned underground rail system in Dublin, Ireland.

The joint venture will support procurement and delivery of the metro system, providing program management, governance and risk management services. MetroLink is described in the press release as one of Ireland's largest infrastructure investments.

The planned system would include 16 stations connecting Swords in North County Dublin with Dublin Airport and the city center. It would operate as a predominantly underground, high-capacity rail line and is intended to integrate with existing Irish Rail, DART, Luas and BusConnects services.

Jacobs Executive Vice President and General Manager Europe Richard Sanderson said: "MetroLink represents a once-in-a-generation opportunity to transform how people move throughout Dublin and support the region's future growth."

AECOM Chief Executive in Europe and India Richard Whitehead said the appointment "reflects AECOM's leadership in delivering complex, multi-billion-dollar programs around the world."

Both companies have prior experience on rail and metro programs including London's Elizabeth line, Metrolinx in Toronto, California High-Speed Rail and Cross River Rail in Brisbane. Both also have existing project work in Ireland.

Jacobs reported approximately $12 billion in annual revenue. AECOM reported revenue of $16.1 billion in fiscal year 2025.
