Energy Vault secures 275 MW of Rolls-Royce engine capacity for AI use

September 10, 2026 8:31 AM

Energy Vault Holdings, Inc. (NYSE: NRGV) has secured 275 MW of reciprocating engine generation capacity using Rolls-Royce MTU technology, with equipment financing provided by Eagle Point Credit Management LLC, according to a press release from the company.

Equipment deliveries are expected to begin in the second half of 2027 and continue through the first half of 2028. The generation capacity is intended to support Energy Vault's power infrastructure projects for hyperscale AI and high-performance computing campuses.

Eagle Point Credit Management, which manages $14 billion in assets, provided dedicated equipment financing to support the procurement. The arrangement is structured to limit the use of Energy Vault's corporate capital prior to deployment into customer projects.

"By securing 275 MW of reciprocating engine generation capacity for delivery beginning in 2027, together with dedicated financing supporting the procurement, we are taking greater control over two critical elements of execution: equipment availability and capital," said Cory Magnuson, President of Asset Vault at Energy Vault.

Jennifer Powers, Principal and Head of Infrastructure Credit at Eagle Point, said equipment lead times are often a critical path to getting power online and that the firm's financing solutions are designed to move quickly with market demand.

Energy Vault said the generation equipment is planned to be integrated with battery energy storage systems, grid-forming power conversion systems and advanced power plant controls. The company said it intends to develop, finance, build, own and operate these assets under long-term commercial agreements with hyperscale customers.
