Syntec Optics Holdings (NASDAQ: OPTX), based in Rochester, N.Y., announced it has more than doubled its defense purchase orders to over $9 million, up from a figure disclosed in a prior quarterly announcement.

According to a press release from the company, the new orders span multiple U.S. defense platforms, including optics for missile guidance systems, night vision equipment, and targeting lasers. The company said orders for missile guidance optics grew an additional 30% since its last announcement, which had reported a 40% increase.

The orders also include optics and opto-mechanical components for augmented reality and mixed-reality headsets used by soldiers, as well as night vision goggles that have been in military use for approximately 10 years.

Matt Carey, vice president at Syntec Optics, said in the statement, "Winning these orders proves the company can build tough, reliable equipment that keeps soldiers and us safe and helps U.S. succeed on missions around the world."

Syntec Optics describes itself as a manufacturer of high-precision optics and photonics, with nearly 180 employees serving defense, space, AI data center, and life sciences markets.
