Lahontan Gold names new CFO ahead of Santa Fe Mine restart
Lahontan Gold Corp. (TSXV: LG, OTCQB: LGCXF, FSE: Y2F) has hired Billy Choi as its new Chief Financial Officer, with a full transition of responsibilities expected in October 2026, according to a company statement.
Choi most recently served as Vice President of Finance at Lithium Royalty Corp., where he was involved in the company's initial public offering and subsequent acquisition by Altius Minerals. His experience includes financial reporting, internal controls, regulatory compliance, and post-acquisition integration.
He holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Toronto and holds the CPA, CA designation.
Outgoing CFO John McNeice, who has served in the role since the company's inception, will assist during the transition period.
CEO Kimberly Ann said in the statement: "As we advance permitting for the Santa Fe Mine and target a restart of production in 2027, we are building a financial management team with the operations experience required to take the Company into its next phase of growth."
Lahontan's primary asset is the Santa Fe Mine in Nevada's Walker Lane, a 28.3 km² project with a NI 43-101 compliant Indicated Mineral Resource of 1,195,000 ounces of gold equivalent and an Inferred Mineral Resource of 1,190,000 ounces of gold equivalent. The company has stated a targeted return to production at the site in 2027.
