September 9, 2026 10:30 AM

Omnicom (NYSE: OMC) announced that Troy Ruhanen, President and Chief Executive Officer of Omnicom Advertising, will retire, and that Andrew Robertson has been appointed as his replacement, effective immediately.

Robertson, who currently serves as Chairman of BBDO Worldwide, has spent more than two decades in leadership roles within Omnicom. He will work with Ruhanen during the transition period.

"Andrew is a proven leader with a deep understanding of Omnicom, our clients, and our industry," said John Wren, Chairman and CEO of Omnicom. "I look forward to working with him on the continued development of our advertising group, particularly his commitment to ensuring creativity remains at the core of what we do as we advance our AI and technology capabilities."

Ruhanen's retirement follows what the company described as the successful integration of Omnicom Advertising after the combination of Omnicom and Interpublic. Ruhanen spent more than twenty years in leadership roles across Omnicom.

"With the integration complete, this is the right moment for me to retire. I have profound confidence in Andrew and our leadership team," Ruhanen said.

Omnicom Advertising aligns creative networks BBDO, McCann, and TBWA with boutique agencies including Goodby, Silverstein & Partners, Deutsch, GSD&M, and MARTIN, among others. The group employs more than 20,000 people globally.
