SEALSQ and WISeSat present satellite quantum security initiative in Paris
SEALSQ Corp (NASDAQ: LAES) and WISeSat.Space presented their Quantum Spatial Orbital Cloud (QSOC) initiative at the International Space Summit in Paris on Sept. 9, 2026, according to a press release from the companies.
The QSOC program is designed to combine WISeSat's satellite constellation with SEALSQ's post-quantum semiconductors, Public Key Infrastructure, quantum random-number generation and identity-management technologies. WISeSat is a subsidiary of WISeKey International Holding Ltd (SIX: WIHN, NASDAQ: WKEY), the parent company of SEALSQ.
First announced in March 2026, the initiative plans the progressive deployment of up to 100 satellites through 2033. The stated objective is to deliver secure communications, quantum randomness certification and post-quantum identity services from orbit to governments, defense organizations, financial institutions and enterprises.
Under the proposed structure, SEALSQ would operate the security and cloud-services layer, offering subscription-based quantum-security services without bearing the full capital cost of the satellite constellation. WISeSat would own and operate the underlying space infrastructure, including satellites, ground systems and mission control.
The planned platform is intended to support post-quantum satellite communications, orbital quantum random number generation, secure key provisioning and protection against "harvest now, decrypt later" attacks, among other services.
Carlos Moreira, Chairman and CEO of SEALSQ, said: "Presenting QSOC at the International Space Summit in Paris demonstrates that post-quantum security and sovereign satellite infrastructure must now be addressed as a single strategic priority."
The companies stated that constellation deployment remains subject to technical validation, regulatory authorizations, launch availability, financing, commercial agreements and final corporate approvals.
