Nuwellis reports gross margin rise to 76% in Q2 2026
Nuwellis, Inc. (NASDAQ: NUWE), a medical technology company focused on cardiorenal conditions, reported a gross margin of 76% for the second quarter of 2026, up from 56% in the same period a year earlier, according to a company statement.
The improvement follows the company's transition of Aquadex product manufacturing to KDI Manufacturing, a contract manufacturer, which began approximately one year ago. Since the transition, KDI Manufacturing has delivered nearly 5,000 AquaFlexFlow blood circuits and 30 Aquadex SmartFlow consoles, and has serviced more than 200 consoles. The company said finished goods have continued to pass quality inspections at rates comparable to those achieved before the transition.
As of August 31, 2026, Nuwellis reported approximately $8.8 million in cash. The company estimates this amount will fund operations into the third quarter of 2027 based on its current operating plan.
"Over the past year, we have made meaningful progress building a more efficient and scalable operating model while continuing to grow revenues at a double-digit rate," said Mike McCormick, President and Chief Executive Officer.
Chief Financial Officer Carisa Schultz said the company intends to maintain financial discipline while directing capital toward near-term product development and market opportunities.
