Uber Eats adds 375+ Wakefern grocery stores in the Northeast
Uber Technologies (NYSE: UBER) and Wakefern Food Corp. announced that more than 375 Wakefern supermarket locations across the northeastern United States are now available on the Uber Eats platform.
The partnership includes several of Wakefern's banner brands: ShopRite, Price Rite Marketplace, The Fresh Grocer, Morton Williams, Dearborn Market, Di Bruno Bros., Fairway Market, and Gourmet Garage. Customers can order produce, meat, seafood, pantry staples, prepared foods, and household essentials through the Uber Eats app, with on-demand and scheduled delivery options.
Wakefern, founded in 1946, describes itself as the largest retailer-owned cooperative in the United States. Its member stores operate across New Jersey, New York, Connecticut, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Delaware, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, and Rhode Island.
"Uber Eats gives our stores another way to serve customers where they are, making it easier to get the fresh foods, neighborhood service and the value they count on with added speed and convenience," said Darren Caudill, Chief Sales Officer at Wakefern Food Corp.
Prashant Garg, Head of North America at Uber Eats, said the partnership is part of the company's broader effort to expand its grocery marketplace. "By partnering with Wakefern and adding more than 375 supermarkets to our platform, including beloved banners like ShopRite and Fairway Market, we're continuing to build a marketplace that brings expansive choice — from full weekly grocery runs to last-minute ingredients — into one seamless app experience."
To mark the launch, Uber Eats is offering discounts of up to 30% off a customer's first eligible order from participating Wakefern banners. Uber One members receive a $0 delivery fee on eligible orders, subject to fees and terms.
