eXoZymes Inc. (NASDAQ: EXOZ) has entered into an agreement with Curia Global, Inc. to transfer and scale its NCT manufacturing process toward commercial production, according to a press release from the company.

Under the agreement, eXoZymes will transfer its NCT manufacturing process to Curia, which will scale the process at its facilities in León, Spain, and Rozzano, Italy. The work includes cross-validation of eXoZymes' enzyme fermentation, cell-free reaction, and purification processes. The program also includes process modeling and engineering analysis to define a path to larger-scale manufacturing.

The program is expected to begin in the fourth quarter of 2026 and is designed to establish a technical roadmap for larger-scale production in 2027.

Damien Perriman, Chief Commercial Officer of eXoZymes, said the engagement is intended to support "commercial customer qualification, future supply agreements, and the planned market introduction of NCT."

Paul Opgenorth, PhD, VP of Development and co-founder of eXoZymes, noted that the company has previously demonstrated the NCT process at pilot scale. "Transferring our entire integrated process — from enzyme production through the cell-free NCT reaction to product purification — into a commercial manufacturing environment represents an important validation of its maturity," he said.

Jamie Grabowski, President of R&D at Curia, said the company's León and Rozzano facilities offer expertise in technology transfer, process development, and manufacturing.

Curia is a contract research, development, and manufacturing organization with more than 20 global sites and more than 3,000 employees. Founded in 1991 as Albany Molecular Research, Inc., the company serves biopharmaceutical customers across small molecules, generic APIs, and biologics.

eXoZymes, founded in 2019, operates a cell-free biomanufacturing platform that uses enzyme-based processes to produce natural products and analogs for nutraceutical and pharmaceutical markets.
