Imax Corporation (NYSE: IMAX) reported its highest-grossing summer ever at the global box office, generating $728 million in worldwide receipts from Memorial Day through Labor Day weekends, a 73% increase over its previous record set in 2023.

The company said its global network captured 5.8% of the total summer box office from June through August across just over 1,800 screens worldwide, which it described as its greatest share ever of the overall box office for that period.

Christopher Nolan's film The Odyssey drove much of the performance. According to the press release, the film has grossed $485 million in Imax, making it the highest-grossing Imax release of all time, with Imax screens accounting for 30% of its worldwide box office. The company said the film earned nearly twice the total of the second highest-grossing Imax release, with weeks remaining in its initial run.

In its eighth week of release, The Odyssey contributed to what Imax described as its highest-grossing Labor Day Weekend ever. The company extended the film's run to September 30 in 39 Imax 70mm film locations worldwide.

Imax has projected a record $1.4 billion in global box office for full-year 2026. Upcoming titles on its slate include Dune: Part Three, scheduled for a December debut, along with Resident Evil, Digger, Street Fighter, Godzilla Minus Zero, and The Further Mis-Adventures of Cliff Booth.

Imax operates 1,876 systems across 91 countries and territories as of June 30, 2026. Its subsidiary, Imax China Holding, Inc., trades on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange under stock code "1970."
