Aris Mining starts construction of Puruni River bridge in Guyana
Aris Mining Corporation (NYSE: ARIS) has begun construction of a permanent 109-metre modular steel bridge across the Puruni River at Puruni Landing in Guyana, according to a company statement.
The bridge will serve as a permanent crossing alongside an existing pontoon crossing, providing an access route to the Toroparu Gold Project. The planned logistics route for Toroparu involves moving heavy equipment and cargo by barge to Itaballi and then by road to Toroparu, crossing the Puruni River at Puruni Landing.
Construction is being undertaken in coordination with Guyana's Ministry of Natural Resources, the Ministry of Public Works, and other government agencies. Completion is targeted for December 2026.
The bridge project is proceeding while Aris Mining advances a Pre-Feasibility Study (PFS) for the Toroparu Gold Project, with the PFS targeted for completion in the fourth quarter of 2026. A construction decision for Toroparu is expected in early 2027.
Neil Woodyer, Chair and CEO of Aris Mining, said the company is "delivering practical infrastructure that supports Toroparu and provides broader benefits in the region." The company noted the permanent crossing is expected to divert heavy industrial traffic away from the main community road.
Aris Mining operates the Segovia and Marmato underground gold mines in Colombia, which together produced approximately 257,000 ounces of gold in 2025. The company is pursuing expansion projects at both Colombian mines, targeting combined annual production of approximately 500,000 ounces.
