Visa and TIFF extend multi-year partnership ahead of 30-year milestone
Visa (NYSE: V) and the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) have announced a multi-year extension of their partnership, according to a statement from Visa Canada. The renewal comes as Visa approaches its 30th year as a TIFF partner in 2027.
Under the renewed agreement, Visa cardholders will continue to receive early ticket access and priority entry at the Visa Screening Room at the Princess of Wales Theatre and Roy Thomson Hall.
Visa data from TIFF 2025 shows local small business spending in the TIFF Zone rose 10% year-over-year, while foreign visitor spending reached a record high, up 15% year-over-year and accounting for 20% of all local commerce during the festival. Since 2022, the number of small businesses in the TIFF Zone has grown by 30%, contributing to a 20% increase in small business sales.
The renewed partnership includes the continuation of Visa Sharing the Screen, a program aimed at expanding festival access for community organizations and underserved audiences. This September, the program will distribute 500 complimentary screening tickets and host a Creator Talk with director Rebeca Huntt and soccer player Megan Rapinoe in connection with the documentary RAPINOE, premiering at this year's festival.
"For nearly three decades, Visa has been proud to partner with TIFF," said Michiel Wielhouwer, President and Country Manager of Visa Canada. "We're thrilled to extend this important partnership and continue giving Visa cardholders opportunities to get closer to the Festival experiences they love."
Cameron Bailey, CEO of TIFF, said Visa's support "helps us create memorable experiences that bring people closer to the films and artists they love."
