IREN's 2GW Sweetwater Hub included in ERCOT Batch Zero process
IREN Limited (NASDAQ: IREN) announced that its 2GW Sweetwater Hub in Texas has been conditionally included in the Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT) Batch Zero process as Base Load, according to a press release statement.
The Sweetwater Hub comprises two projects: Sweetwater 1 at 1,400MW and Sweetwater 2 at 600MW, both part of IREN's announced data center development portfolio of more than 5GW globally.
At Sweetwater 1, IREN's high-voltage substation was energized earlier this year. Construction of 300MW of data center capacity is ongoing, with delivery targeted for the fourth quarter of 2027.
IREN said additional large-scale projects within its broader development pipeline have also been included in Batch Zero. The company stated it will add these projects to its announced development portfolio after executing the relevant grid connection agreements.
ERCOT's classifications remain conditional and subject to ongoing approval processes.
