Investing.com -- The U.S. Department of War awarded Boeing Co. (NYSE: BA) a $241.3 million contract for the repair of flight control surfaces used on Navy F/A-18 E/F and EA-18G aircraft.

The delivery order was issued under a basic ordering agreement from 2022. Boeing will repair nine different configurations of flight control surfaces for the Navy aircraft.

Work will take place primarily in Jacksonville, Florida, which accounts for 83% of the contract, with the remaining 17% performed in St. Louis, Missouri. The company expects to complete the work by September 2032.

The Navy will obligate $60.3 million in fiscal 2026 working capital funds at the time of award, representing 25% of the contract value. These funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. The remaining $181 million is committed to fund the ceiling-price delivery order.

Boeing was the sole source solicited for this requirement under 10 U.S. Code 3204 (a)(1), and it submitted the only offer received. The Naval Supply Systems Command Weapon Systems Support in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, serves as the contracting activity.
