Scorpio Gold Corp. (NASDAQ: SGLD) released results from four drill holes at its Manhattan District Project in Nevada, with two holes at the Goldwedge target returning notable gold intercepts.

Hole 26MN-115 returned 3.02 grams per tonne (g/t) gold over 48.92 metres from 118.87 metres depth, including a higher-grade interval of 19.29 g/t gold over 5.24 metres within the Zanzibar Formation. The same hole also intersected 5.14 g/t gold over 10.15 metres at the faulted contact of the Zanzibar Formation and Manhattan Caldera Volcanics, and 0.46 g/t gold over 16.70 metres within the Caldera Volcanics.

Hole 26MN-118, also at Goldwedge, returned 1.19 g/t gold over 99.94 metres from 98.61 metres, including 5.13 g/t gold over 4.16 metres within the Zanzibar Formation.

A third hole, 26MN-116, tested the Zanzibar Trend and returned 0.93 g/t gold over 22.16 metres from 95.71 metres and 0.84 g/t gold over 25.05 metres from 205.07 metres, both hosted in the Gold Hill Formation. A fourth hole, 26MN-113, targeting the Moriah area, returned only minor gold values of 0.35 g/t over 2.16 metres.

Scorpio Gold has now drilled 114 holes totaling 32,585 metres in its Phase Two diamond drilling program, with assays reported on 107 holes covering 30,889 metres. Results from seven remaining holes are pending.

CEO Zayn Kalyan said the Goldwedge results confirm "that high grade feeder zones sit within an expanding bulk tonnage envelope" and that the structural model is "directly guiding where we drill next."

The company's maiden mineral resource estimate for the Goldwedge and Manhattan Pit areas covers 18,343,000 tonnes grading 1.26 g/t gold for 740,000 ounces of contained gold in the inferred category. The Manhattan District is located approximately 20 kilometres south of Kinross Gold's Round Mountain mine in Nevada's Walker Lane Trend.
