Pecoy Copper reports new drill results at Peru copper project
Pecoy Copper Corp. (TSXV: PCU; FSE: D5E; OTCQB: PCUUF) has released assay results from six diamond drill holes at its Pecoy Copper-Gold-Molybdenum-Silver Project in southern Peru, part of a planned 35,000-metre 2026 drill program.
The six holes, designated PEC26-067 through PEC26-072, totaled 5,678.3 metres and tested the South Breccia, Northwest, Centre-of-Pit and North-Central target areas, according to a company press release.
Hole PEC26-072 at the South Breccia zone intersected 804.0 metres grading 0.34% copper and 0.08 g/t gold from 24.0 metres depth, including 485.2 metres at 0.40% copper and 0.09 g/t gold, and 100.8 metres at 0.56% copper and 0.13 g/t gold. The hole was collared approximately 166 metres west of a previously drilled hole, providing a third broad copper-gold intercept at South Breccia across three separate collar locations. Additional drilling and three-dimensional modelling are required to determine continuity and true thickness between holes.
At the Northwest zone, hole PEC26-067 returned 209.0 metres at 0.40% copper from 15.0 metres depth, including 42.3 metres at 1.01% copper and 11.1 metres at 1.90% copper. A separate deeper interval below the historical resource pit shell returned 296.0 metres at 0.24% copper and 0.009% molybdenum from 744.0 metres to the end of the 1,040-metre hole.
At the Centre-of-Pit area, hole PEC26-069 returned 119.0 metres at 0.30% copper from 29.0 metres, and hole PEC26-071 returned 101.4 metres at 0.34% copper from 130.0 metres.
The company said results to date represent approximately 20% of the planned 35,000-metre 2026 program, with over 16,000 metres drilled and three additional holes in progress. Pecoy Copper holds an inferred mineral resource of 865 million tonnes at 0.34% copper at the project. Reported intervals represent downhole lengths; true thicknesses have not been determined.
