Broadcom Inc. (NASDAQ: AVGO) announced a set of security, identity, and observability capabilities for agentic AI environments running on its Private AI Cloud platform, according to a company statement released at VMware Explore 2026 in Las Vegas.

The announcement centers on three products: AgentMinder, VMware vDefend, and VMware Avi Load Balancer. Together, the tools are designed to govern autonomous AI agents, defend agentic workloads, and protect enterprise AI infrastructure.

AgentMinder, unveiled at the event, functions as a control plane for autonomous AI agents. It assigns enterprise-grade identities to agents, binds their authority to declared missions and approved tools, and enforces least-privileged policies on every tool invocation. The product is built on OpenTelemetry and is intended to provide audit trails and anomaly detection across agent sessions.

VMware vDefend is receiving new enhancements to extend Zero Trust security to agentic AI workloads. Planned additions include automatic discovery of Model Context Protocol (MCP) servers, large language models, and datastores; shadow AI monitoring to detect unauthorized AI usage; and AI-generated intrusion detection and prevention signatures.

VMware Avi Load Balancer is also being updated with agentic threat defense features, including controls to restrict agents from accessing unauthorized MCP tools, zero-day attack detection based on traffic baselines, and sensitive data protection to help prevent unauthorized exfiltration of credentials and personally identifiable information.

"Enterprises need to rethink their security architecture as they operationalize their private AI cloud with agentic workloads," said Umesh Mahajan, vice president and general manager of Broadcom's Application Networking and Security Division. "Enterprises can now safely operationalize agentic AI with defense-in-depth security, enforce strict guardrails, and comprehensively protect their AI environment."

Broadcom did not specify release dates or pricing for the new enhancements in its announcement.
