Tree Island Steel (TSX: TSL) announced that Chief Operating Officer Nancy Davies will retire effective October 1, 2026, and that Brian Liu will succeed her in the role on the same date.

Davies joined Tree Island Steel in 2008 and served as Vice President, Finance and Chief Financial Officer from 2011 before becoming Chief Operating Officer in 2023. "It has been a privilege working with the dedicated employees at Tree Island and I am proud of what we have built together," Davies said.

Liu joined the company in 2016 and has held leadership positions across business transformation, corporate development, procurement, transportation and logistics, and finance and accounting. He was appointed Chief Financial Officer and Vice President, Finance in 2023. Liu will continue to serve as Chief Financial Officer and Vice President, Finance until a replacement is found, with the company saying it has begun a recruiting process for that role.

Executive Chair Amar S. Doman said the board looks forward to working with Liu in his new role, and thanked Davies for her years of service.
