Neptune Digital Assets Corp. (TSXV: NDA) (OTCQB: NPPTF) (FSE: 1NW) has made a $500,000 investment in Atoms, an artificial intelligence and robotics company led by Travis Kalanick, co-founder and former CEO of Uber Technologies Inc., according to a press release from the company.

The investment was made as part of Atoms' previously announced $1.7 billion financing round led by Andreessen Horowitz. Neptune said the transaction was completed on an arm's-length basis.

Atoms is developing machines and automation systems intended to perform work across industrial sectors, including transportation, mining, and food production.

Cale Moodie, President and CEO of Neptune, said the investment gives shareholders "exposure to a high-quality private technology company at an important stage in its development."

Neptune said the investment is part of its broader strategy of pairing its core digital asset operations with selective investments in private technology companies. The company said it continues to evaluate opportunities in artificial intelligence, computing, and other emerging technologies.
