Sphere 3D Corp. (NASDAQ: ANY) announced that its shareholders approved a name change to DarkHorse Technologies Inc. at a special shareholder meeting held Aug. 24, 2026.

The company said it will immediately begin doing business as DarkHorse Technologies while the legal name change takes effect following its corporate continuance from Ontario to British Columbia, which is expected to be completed in the coming weeks pending regulatory and administrative steps.

The company has reserved the Nasdaq ticker symbol "DRK" and intends to begin trading under that symbol following the name change, subject to Nasdaq procedures. Until then, shares will continue to trade under the ticker "ANY."

The rebranding is tied to the company's stated focus on AI and high-performance computing infrastructure, which includes identifying power capacity, deploying modular infrastructure, and developing smaller-footprint sites.

Chief Executive Officer Joel Block said in a statement: "DarkHorse represents how we intend to compete: finding opportunities others overlook, moving with speed and discipline, and building AI and high-performance computing infrastructure in opportune places."

According to the press release, Sphere 3D currently operates approximately 53 megawatts of power capacity across multiple U.S. data center locations and has a development pipeline exceeding 100 megawatts of potential expansion opportunities.
