Ainos launches on-site nitrogen generator for AI and chip facilities
Ainos, Inc. (NASDAQ: AIMD)(NASDAQ: AIMDW) announced the global launch of its Atmosphere Engine platform, a system designed to generate high-purity nitrogen and oxygen directly from ambient air at the point of use.
The company said the platform uses electrochemical air-separation technology and, based on its current engineering calculations, is designed to require approximately one-third of the electricity consumed by conventional molecular sieve-based systems under comparable operating conditions.
Ainos said it is initially targeting AI servers, high-density computing infrastructure and semiconductor manufacturing facilities. The platform is designed to create nitrogen-rich inert environments intended to reduce oxidation and environmental degradation around high-value equipment.
The system uses a modular architecture, allowing individual units to operate independently or be connected in series or parallel to meet higher gas-flow requirements. The company said customers can start with a single unit and add capacity incrementally as demand grows.
For semiconductor manufacturing, Ainos described the platform as complementary to centralized gas supply, with distributed units providing localized flexibility at specific equipment clusters or production zones within larger facilities.
"Why should gas always be produced far away, stored, transported or moved through extensive distribution infrastructure before it reaches the equipment that actually needs it?" said Eddy Tsai, Chairman, President and CEO of Ainos.
Because the system produces both nitrogen-rich and oxygen-rich outputs, Ainos said it plans to evaluate additional applications across data centers, energy infrastructure and, subject to applicable regulatory requirements, healthcare settings. The company said any healthcare applications would be developed in accordance with relevant technical, safety and regulatory standards.
Ainos described Atmosphere Engine as part of a broader Physical AI architecture that includes its AI Nose sensing platform, ScentAI software and Chemical Intelligence capabilities, representing what the company characterizes as a progression from environmental sensing to active environmental control.
