Interstate Power and Light prices $500 million in senior debentures
Interstate Power and Light Company (IPL), a wholly owned subsidiary of Alliant Energy Corporation (NASDAQ: LNT), has priced a public offering of $500 million in 5.100% senior debentures due September 30, 2031.
According to a press release, IPL plans to use the net proceeds to reduce outstanding capital under its receivables purchase and sale program, to reduce outstanding commercial paper, and for general corporate purposes.
The closing of the offering is expected on August 21, 2026, subject to customary closing conditions.
The offering was managed by Mizuho Securities USA LLC, PNC Capital Markets LLC, U.S. Bancorp Investments, Inc., and Wells Fargo Securities, LLC as joint book-running managers. Academy Securities, Inc., Fifth Third Securities, Inc., KeyBanc Capital Markets Inc., and TD Securities (USA) LLC served as co-managers.
The offering is being made through a prospectus supplement and accompanying prospectus filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission. IPL is the Iowa utility subsidiary of Alliant Energy, based in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
