Evolv Technologies Holdings (NASDAQ: EVLV) has completed a multi-year renewal of its hardware and software subscription agreement with the Houston Texans, expanding on an original deal signed in 2023, according to a company press release.

Under the renewed agreement, the Texans' existing Evolv Express® fleet has been upgraded to Gen2 hardware. The system uses sensor technology and artificial intelligence to detect concealed threats at entry checkpoints. The renewal also adds Evolv eXpedite™, the company's autonomous bag-scanning solution, at select entrances where high-volume bag traffic is common.

"Extending our relationship with Evolv was an easy decision," said Juan Rodriguez, the Texans' Senior Vice President and Chief Venue Officer. "With the new eXpedite systems, we will extend those benefits to provide an even smoother arrival experience available to guests and staff with large bags."

The renewal also extends Evolv's marketing arrangement with the team, maintaining the company's designation as the "Official Fan Screening Partner of the Houston Texans." Evolv states it holds more than 50 such official designations with sports teams and venues across North America.

John Baier, Evolv's Vice President of Sports & Entertainment, noted the renewal furthers the company's partnership with Legends Global, which operates the stadium on behalf of the team.

Evolv counts more than a dozen professional football organizations in the United States among its customers, with over 100 sports and entertainment venues on its roster. The company says its systems screen an average of four million people per day.
