August 17, 2026 6:00 AM

China Automotive Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ: CAAS) announced that its subsidiary, Jingzhou Henglong Automotive Parts Manufacturing Co., Ltd., has been designated a national-level "Green Factory" for 2025 by China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT).

The designation gives CAAS two national-level "Green Factory" certifications. The company's first such recognition was awarded to its Hubei Henglong Automotive Systems Group Co., Ltd. Dongfang Avenue plant in December 2023.

Jingzhou Henglong was also included on the national-level "Green Industrial Parks" list. The MIIT recognition cites the subsidiary's performance in green production, energy conservation, and emission reduction.

According to the press release, the company has undertaken several energy-related initiatives at its Jingzhou Dongfang Avenue plant, including the installation of an 8MW rooftop photovoltaic power project, retrofitting of digital workshops, waste heat recovery from air compressors, and treated wastewater reuse.

Qizhou Wu, Chief Executive Officer of CAAS, said, "This recognition is a result of the Company's years of implementing a sustainable development strategy. It marks a new phase in which our green manufacturing systems are led by two national-level benchmarks."

CAAS, based in Hubei Province, China, supplies power steering components and systems and operates through sixteen Sino-foreign joint ventures and wholly-owned subsidiaries.
