Eco Wave Power Global AB (NASDAQ: WAVE) announced that APDL – Administração dos Portos do Douro, Leixões e Viana do Castelo – has commenced rehabilitation works at the Barra do Douro breakwater in Porto, Portugal, a site designated for the company's planned 1 MW wave energy installation.

The rehabilitation follows storm-related damage to the breakwater and is being carried out by APDL as part of its port infrastructure maintenance responsibilities. Eco Wave Power said it has received updates from APDL confirming the works are underway, including at sections of the coastal infrastructure designated for the wave energy equipment.

CEO Inna Braverman is scheduled to travel to Porto in mid-August 2026 to meet with APDL. The meeting is expected to focus on establishing a completion timeline for the rehabilitation works and coordinating when Eco Wave Power can access the site to begin its installation phase.

APDL has agreed to provide Eco Wave Power with a formal letter of support for the company's request to Portuguese authorities for an extension of the grid-connection deadline applicable to the first 1 MW phase. The extension is intended to align the project's regulatory timeline with the completion of the breakwater works.

During the same visit, Braverman is expected to meet with Portuguese subcontractors across civil engineering, steel works, hydraulic systems, electrical works, and grid connection.

"Seeing the rehabilitation works officially commence at the Barra do Douro breakwater is an important step forward for our project in Portugal," Braverman said in a statement.

The company's agreement with APDL provides for the potential development of up to 20 MW of wave energy capacity, with the 1 MW installation serving as the first phase. Eco Wave Power said it expects to provide further updates following the August meetings.
