EHang Holdings Limited (Nasdaq: EH) announced that its EH216-S aircraft completed what the company claims to be Central Asia's first pilotless human-carrying eVTOL flight, conducted in Astana, Kazakhstan.

The flights took place during the Games of the Future 2026 event, where the aircraft carried Nurlan Sauranbayev, Kazakhstan's Minister of Transport, and other guests over the event venue. Kazakhstan's President Assistant Yesekeyev Kuanyshbek, Vice-Minister of Transport Lastayev Talgat Tleubekovich, and Aviation Administration of Kazakhstan CEO Michael E. Daniel attended the event.

The flights occurred under a regulatory framework Kazakhstan established in June 2026, which introduced national initial rules covering eVTOL aircraft, vertiports, and unmanned aircraft traffic management systems.

According to the company, the EH216-S has now conducted flights in 23 countries across five continents. In 2025, EHang signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Allur Group, one of Kazakhstan's largest automotive manufacturers, to develop air mobility markets in Central Asia.

Kazakhstan's Ministry of Transport said the first phase of operations will focus on demonstration and tourist flights of five to 30 minutes, highlighting the country's landmarks. Future plans include potential integration into urban transportation networks.
